John Henry High School Students Support Hurricane Relief Efforts through "Hawks for hurricane Survivor" fundraiser
RICHMOND, CA - On September 15, 2017, John Henry High School students celebrated raising $835.63 during their "Mohawks for Hurricane Survivors" assembly at their Richmond campus. The John Henry High School staff agreed to have one faculty member shave their head into a mohawk for every $150.00 raised. All proceeds are being distributed across the world to support hurricane relief efforts.
"I am overwhelmed by the generous donations from our staff and students and am humbled by the initiatives they all took to support others in need," says Greg Beaudoin, Dean of Students at John Henry High School. "All of these funds will be donated to the current recovery efforts underway for the victims of the recent natural disasters that damaged the Virgin Islands, Caribbean Islands, Mexico and the United States."
